G’day everyone.
It’s been a while since my last message and unfortunately there aren’t many good things to talk about as far as the season is going for us at the moment. And on top of that, I have been recovering from a small shoulder injury for the last 2 weeks also and have not been able to help the team.
I can tell you now that I am recovering nicely and expect to join the team very soon. When exactly that will be is up to the coaches as I will have to prove to them that I am healthy but I’m sure it’ll only be a few days more. Thank you all for your well wishes while I was recovering. It’s nice to know you are all concerned. My days have consisted of rehab treatment and exercises with weight training and running. The trainers have done a great job of getting me healthy and I thank them very much. My wife is a great cook and has made some delicious meals too so I have been pretty spoiled while on this break.
I honestly thought that we would have gotten back on track as a team and started playing better and more consistent baseball at this stage of the season but we seem to be stuck in this funk of not making the big pitches or getting the clutch hits when we really need them. we are doing our best to figure it out at practice but still can’t seem to carry it to the games. I believe we have the ability to make it happen and I’m sure that we will regain our confidence in those pressure situations. Time will run out soon.
Any suggestions from you fans? Now, to answer some of your questions.
1, How long do you usually sleep?
I try to sleep for 8 hours a night. Longer would be great but my kids are awake early and want to play so I can’t sleep in too long.
2, What is your memorable game, or play.
The night we clinched the pennant in 2005 was very special because I pitched and we were able to celebrate at Koshien for the fans.
Also winning a silver medal at the Athens Olympics was a big highlight. pitching against Japan in the semi-finals was a game I’ll remember very well for the rest of my life.
3, Which seasons do you favorite? Why?
2005 is my favorite season so far. Winning makes everything fun and that year I felt like I knew my teammates and the fans much better than in 2003….
4, Whom do you respect?
I assume you mean among my peers???? The kinds of people I respect are those who respect themselves and the game of baseball. The best examples of this kind of player are Kanemoto, Shimoyanagi, Yano, Sheets. They are all great teammates and I know they will do everything they can to help the team.
Thanks again for all your messages…
I’ll write again soon….
Cheers,
Jeff
